Da'Ron Cox Legal Defense Fund
Seeking Justice for an Innocent Man
Da'Ron Cox is a victim of his environment. Mr. Cox was a college-
bound student who participated in a lot of the
Homewood-Brushton YMCA programs. Da'Ron was a preppy
style school boy who knew his only way out of the Ghetto or
Homewood was through education.

He was at the time a very manner able, respectful and role model
character that adults, peers and youth were attracted to. He had a
quiet like demeanor, but yet a demanding presence of
righteousness. He was in no way, shape, form or fashion a
follower. In fact, during the hype of the gang era in Pittsburgh, he
refused to dress in the known gang trend of Dickies.

Da'Ron often wore Polo shirts and casual attire that set his look
totally different from that of the common gang and Homewood
youth. Every youth, gang member and adult in Homewood
respected Da'Ron Cox because he decided early in his
youthfulness life to do the right thing. I have known Da'Ron all of
his life and watched him grow from a serious career-minded youth
to a promising young adult.

It is sad to say that in every Ghetto there is a Da'Ron Cox who is
a victim of circumstances and his environment. The youth, gang
members and adults of Homewood know that Da'Ron Cox is not
capable of having a spirit that has a total disregard for human life.
My family and I pray for Da'Ron's family and a lot of youth and
young adults out there like Da'Ron because we know the
inconvenience of wrongful convictions play on a family, person
and community.

"America is a society that wrongly imprisons its citizens; therefore
the only place for a righteous person in America to be is prison."
The late Herbert Mantore Johnson... God does not make mistakes
and Da'Ron Cox will be vindicated soon. Unconditional
